2018 UAO Annual Session

Greetings orthodontic colleagues and friends!

We hope 2017 was a wonderful year for all.  And if it wasn’t, well here’s to 2018!

Remember to save the date for our annual UAO meeting.
The meeting will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Salt Lake Community College Miller Conference Center.
This is the same place we held the meeting 2 years ago and we had excellent feedback.

Historically, our annual meeting has been held sometime in the Spring.  Beginning last year, on a trial basis, the RMSO decided to hold their annual meeting every other year in Salt Lake City during the Fall.  To take advantage of their greater resources, last year the UAO board voted unanimously to change our annual meeting to the Fall so that every other year we will do a combined meeting with the RMSO.

This year’s meeting will be excellent!  We have secured 2 of our speakers and are working on a 3rd.  The speakers we have so far will be speaking on incorporating cutting-edge technology into your practice.  One speaker will address combination braces/aligner treatments as well as 3D printing your own aligner treatments in office to reduce your aligner bill.  He comes highly recommended and sponsored by Unitek.  The financial speaker will address tax reduction and retirement planning strategies.

The following is a tentative outline of the planned DOCTOR agenda:

8:00 – 9:00 am              Registration / Continental Breakfast / Vendor Time

9:00 – 10:30 am             Morning Speaker

10:30 – 11:00 am           Break / Snacks/ Vendor time / Catch up with friends

11:00 – 12:00 pm           Morning speaker conclusion

12:00 – 1:30 pm             Complimentary Lunch, Business Mtg and Vendor Time

1:30 – 3:30 pm                Afternoon speaker

3:30 – 4:00 pm                 Enjoy camaraderie of fellow orthodontists and leave early to beat traffic.

The STAFF agenda will be morning only as follows:

8:00 – 9:00 am                 Registration / Continental Breakfast

9 :00– 10:30 am                Staff Speaker

10:30 – 11:00 am             Break / Snacks / Socialize in a non-office environment

11:00 – 12:00 pm             Staff Speaker conclusion

Once we have final details, we will email a more exact agenda with specifics regarding content.

The meeting is free for UAO member doctors.
Staff registration will be $25 per staff member.

We are also planning on having several vendors attend to help sponsor the meeting.

We enjoy your continued association and immensely appreciate your support.  This organization is only as strong as our commitment to it.  With the dental and orthodontic environment changing so much, it is critical that we have a unified voice to protect the profession we love.  Supporting the UAO is supporting and protecting the future of orthodontics!

We hope to see you all in September at the annual meeting!
